The technology is the easy part

Nearly thirty years in enterprise IT say the tools are about twenty percent of the job. People, process and ownership are the rest, and that is where the value sits. Hernández Ortiz B.V. works on both: senior consultancy across cloud platforms, data and governance, service management and cost control, paired with hands-on software engineering to build what those decisions need.

Advice and delivery, from the same organisation

Hernández Ortiz B.V. brings together senior IT consultancy and hands-on software engineering, so the strategy and the system that implements it come from one place.

The consultancy arm works with organisations on cloud platforms, data, governance, service management and cost control. The software engineering arm, 1up-Action, builds the websites, applications and automation that put those decisions into production.

Both are built on the same foundation: nearly thirty years of work across international service organisations, global retail and banking platforms, and regulated critical infrastructure: from running service desks to owning cloud platforms and data products.

The company is deliberately small. A senior core, a cloud consultant growing into the work, and specialist contractors brought in where a piece of work genuinely needs them. You get the people who do the work, not an account layer in front of them.

The profile behind the company
Enterprise experience

Work delivered inside global retail, banking and critical-infrastructure organisations, in the Netherlands, Germany and across EMEIA.

The whole lifecycle

Service management, frameworks, platforms, data and delivery. Rarely does a problem sit in only one of them.

Built, not just advised

The company runs its own platform and ships commercial software. The advice comes from people who still deliver.

What we do

Six areas where we help organisations solve real IT problems. Depth on each lives with the team that does it.

Cloud platform consultancy

Designing, improving and governing cloud platforms so teams can consume them repeatably: standards, onboarding, guardrails and the operating model around them.

Software engineering

Websites, business applications and automation built to production standards, for organisations too large for manual work and too small for their own IT department.

Data & analytics and governance

Data platforms that people can rely on: pipelines, quality, ownership and the governance that makes the numbers defensible. Experience at regulated, high-volume scale.

IT information management frameworks

Structuring how technology work is organised: process landscapes, standards and ownership models that survive being handed over.

IT service management

Service desks, delivery management and support organisations that scale, designed around what users actually need, then measured.

FinOps

Visibility and ownership over technology spend, so cloud investment is intentional and measurable rather than a surprise on the invoice.

Why this combination

The biggest gains are rarely where people look first

A platform that feels slow often has a process worth redesigning behind it. Data nobody trusts usually has ownership worth clarifying. A rising cloud bill points at a design decision worth revisiting. Having worked the service desk, the framework, the platform, the data and the delivery, we can find the one that gives you the most back.

Diagnosis before redesign

Measure what is actually slow before changing it. Lead times, demand mix and cost patterns read from real data.

Enterprise scale, tested

Platforms and services delivered inside global retail, banking and critical-infrastructure organisations.

One accountable partner

The same company designs the operating model and builds the software. Fewer hand-offs between the decision and the delivery.

People, not just platforms

Most technology problems turn out to be ownership, process or skills problems wearing a technical disguise. Fifteen years running service organisations is what makes that visible early.

Selected work

Three problems worth reading about, from critical infrastructure to a bank to a small installer.

A critical-infrastructure operator in the energy sector

The platform was built. Teams still could not get onto it

A managed cloud platform, finished and waiting, and workload teams queueing to onboard onto it. The constraint was never the technology.

Microsoft Azure Cloud governance FinOps
A large Dutch bank

Eleven million transactions a day, and the product was the floor

The users of this platform were not the bank's customers. They were the model developers hunting money laundering, and what they needed was ground that did not move.

Azure Databricks Apache Kafka Apache Airflow
A Dutch sun-shading installer

Three percent looks completely normal

A supplier's price list was three percent too high. That is exactly the kind of error nobody catches.
